One of the first exposures to War Like Situation for an entry Level Cadet at National Defence Academy Kharakvasla(Pune) is Camp Green Horn.In the Hilly Terrain of Perangoot the young 16 years old try being a different Tortoise -- Head out of the Shell initially and watch with wonder what the world of a soldier looks like.Amazing exposure of male faces in pattern breaking camouflage --- mass common bath around a huge tank with over 200 youngsters on full MONTY show. There ushers a new spring in every step and a song in every heart-- expectations galore.
Right now --exactly 40 years later -- I have similar feelings --- Camp Green Horn at Blogging!
It all started a few weeks back when a dear family friend and now CEO of SourceFuse Technologies, Gautam Ghai had a meeting with me on doing a session for his Noida Team on Enabling them on Work Place Effectiveness.I readily agreed provided he enabled me on web visibilty.
Yesterday I facilitated the session at his swanky new office at Noida.A great experience in relating Passion to Performance through Self!! The ultimate gift in the Guru-Shishya Parmapara( just to draw an analogy --- I was certainly not the Guru in this session)-- was when young Team Leader Angad walked up to me at the end of the session and had a pertinent question."How does one come to know where his/her Passion Lie-- some people do it so early and then master the field wherein lies the Passion.I also want to discover my Passion and excel as early as possible". My opinion is perhaps experience alone helps you discover your Passion-- till then enjoy doing what you are doing -- and in case you honstly and frankly feel you cannot do that -- change your field. One fine morning will see you in the Pinnacle of your Passion.Perhaps it is God's endowment when one can work on one's Passion.Till then take time and think about it.
24 Years in the Army saw me reach a Colonel's Rank--complete Masters In Automobile Technology--but I quit to seek fresh pastures at Maruti-- Car Sales. As Business Head Pasco Automobiles it was like Raising the Bar every day.Till one fine day -- 5 yrs later I moved on to Corporate Affairs with Gaggan Brand -- Edible Oils and Paper Industry.5 yrs into handling( no pun intended) Regulatory Bodies and Government Officials.
But where was the Passion? Last about 3 yrs now Performance Enabling full time -- yes Passion at last -- 56 years is too young once again.
We will talk about it later-- till then be safely Passionate!!-- Amar Bindra

first blog fantastic....write blogs more often
ReplyDeleteThe session was highly motivating and consider myself lucky to be part of it. All thanks to our CEO who made it possible.
ReplyDeleteIt came up as a long due servicing for me which actually tuned me up. After the session got ended, i had a different thought process all together. It sharpened me up, i was more focused with a clear vision not only professionally but personally as well.
Right in the beginning of the session Mr. Bindra said you yourself will be having answers/solutions to all your questions/problems, and by the end of the session i was able to narrow down my problems/questions which were bothering me and was able to discover answers/solutions for them as well.
I would highly recommend Mr. Bindra, as his guiding/motivating skill are very realistic. He doesn't do anything fancy and is still able to get the HAPPENING YOU out of YOU. I would suggest readers of this blog to approach Mr. Bindra at least once with their queries and i am sure you would get answers to your queries just like i did. That one liner from him was enough for me to change my approach from being result oriented to work oriented.
Thanks,
Angad Singh
